GDN Uruguay and Grupo Vierci Sign Binding Sales Agreement

January 2, 2025 - GDN Uruguay and Grupo Vierci signed a binding agreement today for the sale of all shares of the brands that currently comprise GDN Uruguay: TaTa Supermarkets, San Roque Pharmacy, BAS, MultiAhorro Hogar, and the wholesale chain Frontoy.

The transaction is subject to the corresponding regulatory approvals in accordance with current regulations (including the Commission for the Promotion and Defense of Competition, among others), which are necessary for its formalization. With more than 70 years of history since the founding of the first TaTa supermarket, the company currently has more than 200 points of sale distributed across all 19 departments, an e-commerce network for all its brands, a nationwide model distribution center, and nearly 5,000 employees who serve more than 150,000 customers daily. Throughout its history, the company has stood out for values such as inclusion, constant innovation, transformative leadership, professional training, and recognized management within the sector. This sale operation by GDN was carried out within the context of a strategic reorganization of its portfolio of brands and companies in the region. For its part, Grupo Vierci is a family-owned Paraguayan business group with 58 years of history and a multinational presence in 10 countries.
