With the participation of national and departmental authorities, TaTa Supermarkets presented the 92nd store of its chain in a space of more than 1,300 square meters. This is a milestone for the entire company as it is the first one of TaTa Experience strategic plan, designed for a renewed experience that elevates the value proposition for both customers and employees. The branch, located in Barros Blancos, next to the renowned TATA Group Operations Centre involved an investment of US$2.5 million and will employ 42 people, including an employee from our Inclusion Programme. The entire team attended +1,100 hours of technical training and +5,516 hours of on-the-job training for the specific position as part of the company induction and the launch of this new experience programme. “The plan has four pillars: convenience, agility, closeness and inclusion. These are the attributes of the renewed experience model that we are interested in offering to all our customers, but also to our employees, suppliers and the communities in which we operate,” explained Magdalena Mutio, general manager of the chain. The store is featured by its modern design, wide and uncluttered corridors, further development of assortment, expansion of linear meters of cold areas and incorporation of CO2 system in refrigerators to improve energy efficiency. In addition to the classic categories such as staple foods, meats, cookies, fruits and vegetables, cold meats and cheeses, bakery and frozen foods, the assortment includes textiles, bazaar, toys, bookshop and electronics. It also means the first store with a redesign of the brand visual identity, which includes an updated logo, a new colour palette and a refresh of all interior signage, professional signage and staff uniforms. During the opening ceremony, Mutio gave special thanks to all employees who are part of the company: “The value of TaTa is its people; thanks to the commitment and teamwork of all employees, this milestone was possible.” Likewise, TaTA is proud to share its ongoing commitment and historical support to the School No. 178. Since 2016, it has been collaborating with the school to improve its facilities and contribute to the well-being of its students and educational staff. In the first year, a major project was carried out to refurbish the school, enlarging and remodelling the dining room in order to provide a more adequate and welcoming space for the students. Subsequently, exterior perimeter fences were installed and painting work was carried out throughout the facilities, improving the safety and aesthetics of the school environment. Additionally, through the Distribution Centre volunteering programme, employees participated in and supported various activities organised by the school, fostering a sense of community and social commitment. Support was also provided in audiovisual technology, which will be of great use in facilitating teaching and improving students’ educational experience. Based on its ongoing commitment to the community, TaTa will continue to support the needs expressed by School No. 178 and to seek more opportunities to generate a positive impact on the neighbours of Barros Blancos. Since TaTa Supermarkets opened their first store on 18 de Julio Street, in June 1956, they have always dedicated their efforts to grow and transform themselves, becoming a country brand with presence in all 19 departments. In this quest to be closer to all Uruguayans for 67 years, the opening of the new store reinforces its position as a leader in the sector and its commitment to permanent innovation.
