BAS executives consider the choice of Ecuador as a logical decision in its expansion plans to open its first store outside the country. “We have known the Ecuadorian market for many years and we hope to achieve a very strong identification between local customers and the brand DNA, because we share the same characteristics: cheerful, easy-going when it comes to dressing, looking for quality at a good price”, comments Katty Salas, Basic & Simple Director in our country. The location chosen for this first store, which will open its doors on Friday, February 3 at 10:00 a. m., is Riocentro El Dorado shopping mall in León Febres Cordero Ave., Daule Canton, because “it is a fast-growing area, where we are close to our customers: young working couples with children, who can find in our store everything they need for their daily life, saving time and money”, assures Katty Salas. The BAS store, located on the top floor of the mall, has the same design as the stores in Uruguay, with a lighted environment, pastel colours, wooden decoration, “but also with the offer that characterises us, bringing collections of basic clothing for all times and for everyone in the family, dad, mum, children and babies, in different styles, i.e. basic, beach wear, school and sports, as well as baby clothes”, mentions Salas. The BAS brand was created in 2012, in Uruguay and began to be marketed in TA-TA supermarkets, but such was its success that since 2016 it began to open its own stores in Montevideo, and then expanded to the rest of Uruguay, where it now has almost thirty stores. “Our decision is to open more than 30 stores nationwide”— indicates Francisco de Narváez, De Narváez Group President—generating some 400 jobs with an investment of 14 million dollars over the next 5 years.” The current investment will be $450k in this 400 m2 store, divided into an exhibition and sales area and a warehouse, which will be staffed by personnel ready to provide a warm and pleasant experience.
